Too Long for Headliner to Hit Stage & Trying Too Hard to Update Their Sound
The Rascal Flatts concert was advertised with a start time of 5:30PM. That seemed too early and, I could'nt find any info online prior to the show to find out when Rascal Flatts would actually hot the stage. We rushed to get out of work and head down to DTE/Pine Knob so we wouldn't miss too much of the show. Apparently, the 5:30pm start time was for a parking lot stage just outside the front entrance to showcase some local country bands. There ended up being THREE opening acts (including the final one being a guy name Verbal Ase doing sound impersonations) ... the first act didn't start until around 7:00PM which meant Rascal Flatts didn't hit the stage until around 9:25 PM. From the start of their performance, it was obvious they were trying to reinvent their songs with some modern techno music vibe. By 10:30PM, the crowd was starting to stream out leaving only millenials to party the night away.We just wanted to here the awesome classic sound and songs of Rascal Flatts. Disappointed.
Disappointed
While sitting in Pavilion, instrumentals were excessively loud and it muffled the sound of voices. Difficult to hear which song was being played. Also, they tried to give a new sound to their music which fell short. After all, we came expecting to hear the great hits we knew and loved. Very disappointing and will never go to a Rascal Flatts concert again. I’ll listen to CD instead.
